September Newsletter

Hello everyone! We are happy to be able to share what is happening in Guadalajara with you.
Two weeks ago, our pastor Mike Vincent, along with Fernando Serrano, Bradford Larson and their 3 sons came to visit us from Rosarito, Baja California. We had a great weekend with them. It was really encouraging for me personally, to be able to sit down and talk about the ministry and my family. It is a blessing to hear advice and receive prayer from my mentors and friends. I thank God for their lives and for the time that they took to come. God is teaching me to be a better pastor, to teach and take care of the congregation that he has trusted me with, and most of all to be a good father and husband.
On Saturday, they shared a series of conferences with us. We looked at three foundational elements of our faith: Jesus Christ, salvation, and the Church. The congregation (which is made up of mainly new believers) paid close attention to the Word and learned more about Jesus Christ. They were encouraged and happy for the visit.
It gives me joy to see how God is transforming lives. People have been coming to the church just out of curiosity. Others come because they have been invited, but even though they didn’t have a desire to be part of the church, little by little God has begun to work on their hearts. They are returning each Sunday with a hunger for His Word. I acknowledge that this is only thanks to the power of the Holy Spirit, since we do not depend on programs or methods. Oh Lord, this is my prayer: That only your Word would be the foundation for this church, YOUR church. Like the apostle Paul said in Acts 20:28, “…the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.”
For 2 months, I have had the opportunity to share the Word each week in a secular rehabilitation center. These men are full of questions and a deep desire to be free of the weight of sin. My goal is to continue discipling them and that once they have finished their time that they could come to the church along with their family, and that God would transform their lives. You could help me in praying for them.
Every day, God puts a stronger desire in me to see this city surrendered to the love of God. 8 million people live here, and despite being the second biggest city in Mexico, there is a very low percentage of evangelical Christians, less than 2% of the population. I believe that God will do great things here in his church, Calvary Chapel Living Hope, because I firmly believe that God’s heart is that no one would be lost, but rather that all would come to the knowledge of the only true God.  John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
Yes Lord, bring your work to life.
As you can see, there is much need and we would love to work together with you. Our doors are open. Would you like to visit us or maybe bring a missionary team? Please do not hesitate to contact us. Once again, thank you so much for being a part of what God is doing here in Guadalajara.

We know that it is through your prayers that God supplies for our spiritual needs, and it is through your financial help that God supplies our physical needs. Thank you for your prayers and support. We want you to know that we are praying for you, too.
May God Bless You. Hebrews 6:10. For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of[c] love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
With much love, Eduardo, Linda, Abigail & Israel
